hey guys after a big ride the other day my mini is a bit worse for wear..
when i was riding it the other day i had it in 4th and i was crusing along and i started dying in the revs and then it would pick up again...
also it blew a shit load of smoke the day of the big ride, and yesterday i washed it and now it wont start... i put a plastic bag over the air filter but some water got down the pipe..
i think it needs a re build cos its loosing compression and speed ect ect..
just wondering if a top end is doable urself?
or if it could be somthing else.
cheers chris

How much smoke ?? like what a 2 stroke lawn mower would smoke like ??
Washed it and now wont start - I'd be thinking electrical problem somthing has come loose or got 2 wet ... make sure the spark plug cap isn't full of water aswell..
Take the plug out and see if its got spark and go from there... motors are normaly easy ... they only need fuel, air and spark... try and nut out the easy things frist and rule that out as one option then check the next thing...

Lets say i got heaps of spark, enough fuel an nothings changed in the air intake
what could be the problem?
yeah cracked ignition cover dosnt help when i rode in the wet!
i cleaned the magnito duvey lacky
checked spark (both against exaust pipe an somehow against finger:( tones of spark)
fresh cleaned carby about 10ish times with aircompressor
freshed cleaned airfilter (also tryed without it on at all)
heaps of compression also
i m kinda stumped guessing something more major
i think i may have to take it to a shop
but any advice could help

Have you checked the CDI is pluged in all the way... that will spot the bike running at all thats for sure.
You might have heaps of spark outside the cylender but have you also try'd a new plug, sometime you get spark outside but wont fire under compression.

lol if it's a two-stroke you have all the exact symptoms of a blown crankcase seal.

hey guys , i pulled of the plug and it has shit all spark , so that could be my first problem , im goin to pull down the carby and check for any blockages and i'll check the tank aswell.. im goin to get a new plug today and see if that helps. i was also thinking of pulling of the plug and leaving it off for a while to let any water that might be in there evaporate , and i'll do and oil change , see if any of that helps

No dont do that... it'll rust the valve quick smart ... use CRC or similar to disperse the water and kick it over a few times...

k i got a new spark plug and tried it again , well it kinda started but i had to hold it pinned to kinda run , basicly it WAS blowing more smoke than usual , like a 2 stroke running 30 to 1! and oil was comming out of the pipe like a 2 stroke lol... so yeah i think its the top end...
what do u recon?
oh yeah i wont leave the spark plug out ;) thanx for the heads up

One thing make sure your running it on premium fuel and that your fuels not gone stale or has water in it. If your getting shit all spark well your not going to burning all your fuel which will make your bike pretty much retarded and will spit some of the fuel out the back.
I would be starting with a full service to make sure you have good clean oil and clean filter. Clean out your carby and then get your spark issue sorted and just see how you go once your getting a good spark.

You'l probbly find you need to check and adjust the valve clearances ..
Alll the smoke will most likely be valve stem seals leaking oil..
