Does anybody know the minimal amount a dirt needed for a ramp landing,(that is if there is a measurement unit for that) or like how many truck loads?
thx.

make the dirt landing about 12-15 foot high and lenght about 30 foot long that gives you an idea but the bigger the better if you have the dirt and space as youll have more room for error

Yeah, as Hollywood said, if ya got the room, use as much dirt as you can get ya grubby hands on. When it comes to landing ramps, the bigger the better. Safety 1st and all that junk, ya know :D.

We pulled it off with 14 truckloads once, but it's not advisable. It wasn't high, it wasn't wide, and it wasn't overly safe. From my experience shoot for at least 30 truckloads to make it reasonably schmick and big. Our landing has 33 in it at the moment I think and it's quite plush, big safety deck, good height and mega wide. And for that in measurement units, it's around 280m³ or more. Hope this helps.

Yeah, i couldn't think of the measurement term before but thats it. :) Cam (Sturto) told me once, If I'm not mistaken, that he wouldn't use anything smaller than 250m³ for a decent downramp. And thats comin from a Pro, so there ya go. And as for how many truck loads that is....Syler used around 30....but really, it depends on the size of ya truck aye hehe :p

thanx ppl...helps a lot... I just wanted to know cuz Im gonna set up a ramp at a small mx track, I need the landing to be large enough to be safe but still fit into the track. I was also thinking the landing could be a step up or something so that the kids and other riders can still use it as a jump, not just something in the way that they gotta go around, that way when the ramp isnt being used we can just move it out to the side.
