Depending on their metal prices and labour, I wouldn't expect to get much change back from around $1100 give or take the face price

i reckon even more than that ... the steel alone is worth about 800, then you've gotta think of expanded mesh or ply which is another $150-$200 at least. i'd say at least $1700, and maybe even up to $3000 depending on options and if they get an apprentice to do the work or the top dog. getting a ramp fabricated ain't cheap. I think it would be cheaper to go and hire a welder for $30 a day and teach yourself to weld.

you can hire welders pretty cheap.. $10-20 a day?
look around for the cheapest steel, may take time, but in the end it may save $100? get a few mates to help you build it. i know the steel for my aussie comp is costing $500. (40x40x3). i think im getting about 80m. (10 lengths of 8m). but im getting the steel at cost price.

Yeah, if you shop around you can get sweet deals on metal. One place even said they would cut it all to length for me for free.
