I use my trusty pair of denim shorts, they're great, cheap $20 from Jay Jay's warehouse LOL and survived a couple good stacks without a minor rip or tear, and naaa not that hot at all

i was juss gunna say that fox hav 2 different colors 4 sale....they hav black and red or juss get ya mum 2 cut ur mx pants up and sew the ends so they dont look daggy....and if ya cut em up or buy the fox racing 1s allwayz wear knee pads czo my mate was doin the same thing and didnt wear knee pads and crashed on his 65 foot tabletop and landed on his knee and broke it in half...and u shood of cn his knee it was like retarted and he also can ride after the treatmeant that he had from the doctor that can fix all sorts off injuries 4 xtreme sports....moral 2 this story....ALLWAYZ WEAR KNEE GUARDS IF U WEAR SHORTS WHILE JUMPIN AND RIDIN. thank u 4 ur time....lol

with the knee guard topic, i was just wondering if you should use just knee pads or if those shin/knee guards are ok...

I use the Thor Quadrant shin/knee pads which are the cheaper ones, but do the job nicely, no protection, like a proper "guard" but they'll stop ya from gettin ya knee and shin scarfed up. Some of the other Mungo lads use the heavier Thor "Force" one, which is a knee "guard". chunky design.

if youre gonna wear shorts, id reccomend wearing something that will cover most of the back of your knee too. I burnt my leg many times wearing the basic fox knee/shin guard
