IFMXF riders and friends to rock the Dark Continent on a two-week road trip!
Eight IFMXF riders will be jetting down to South Africa this December for two weeks of road trip mayhem. Once there, the pro circuit crew will be meeting up with big players like “Mad” Mike Jones, and riders from the local pro scene “Nick de Witt” and “Werner van der Merwe“.The South African and Namibian IFMXF road trip will deliver a series of entertainment and sporting spectacle unlike anything ever witnessed on the continent. The tour kicks off in Cape Town on the 13th of December with a contest in the heart of the city.
Two days later high-flyer Mike Jones from the US will join the crew down in Johannesburg for the 7th instalment of “Red Bull X-Ray”. The FMX amateur workshop tour provides young guns of the region a day of FMX clinic bliss headed by the oldschool freestyle hero from Pittsburgh, USA.
From Johannesburg the crew is off to Swakopmund, Namibia to gear up for the next contest set for the 20th of December. Two weeks of sun, party, and riding is a great way to end one of the best seasons of the IFMXF to date. A great freeriding session in the Namib desert will round off the tour before the riders head back to cold Europe and prepare for the IFMXF season in 2004.
The following riders are set for the road trip between the 11th and 23rd of December:
· Sebastian Wolter (GER)
· Oystein Kjorstad (NOR)
· Ailo Gaup (NOR)
· Kris Brock (GBR)
· Gary Taylor (GBR)
· Mike Jones (USA)
· Nick de Witt (RSA)
· Werner van der Merwe (RSA)
Additional riders that may join the tour are Benoit Milot (CAN), Mike McGaw (CAN), Kevin Burcklen (FRA), Hannes Ackermann (GER), Martin Schenk (AUT) and Tobias Immler (GER).
Special thanks to Air Namibia, Namibian Breweries and Red Bull for their support!
