OK .. 1st we need to know how old is the bike sice its been Worked on .... ?

Next you will all ways see Black Carbon on top your piston as for the valves It sounds like over burnning of oil or fuel.. Im not 100 % on this Im told this is Normal... ? as adam says the older the bike has not been worked on the more U will see .. so U may be ok.. we would need more info .. Type bike.. Model, so on ..

Cheers :D

The black on the piston is carbon buildup, the older/longer its been between rebuilds on the bike, the more there will be... Nothing really wrong there unless there is a huge amount...

The liquid sounds like a mixture of burnt and unburnt oil from the fuel. What fuel/oil ratio are you running on what type of bike? It sounds normal though, kinda like the oil you get out the end of the pipe... nothing to worry about...

Why did ya pull the bike down for ?? to replace the ring or some thing. I work at my local Honda dealership so I have worked on few bikes before. The excessive carbon build up is ok but is caused by poor fuel or a bad spark plug I suggest replacing it ..The oil on the power valves is normal that it’s lubrication however if it’s over slimy that means that you oil mixture is to rich.. hope this helps ya ..
