I was just in a rush to fill up my bike with some fuel and happened to spill some down the side of my bike. I wasn't to worried about it cause there isn't much damage it can do so i finished filling up then wiped away all the spillage. Heres the problem, i have an 02 CR250 with stock pipe, when i wiped the pipe due to the petrol spill a patch wiped away leaving bare metal, what is it that is on the pipes to make them black? is it just black spray paint or what? if so can i just re-spray the whole pipe?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks, Steve.

I'm not sure what comes on them from factory but a trip to your local car shop will save you... Grab a can of high temprature FLAT black manifold/exhaust spray paint and paint her up nice and new looking ;) It will pay to pull it off hang it up and paint the whole lot firtst time around, then just keep a can handy and touch up the visable bits as needed... A word or warning though, its smokes like a biiitch when you first start the bike afterwards as the paint cures, be sure to be outside....
