Introducing the Yamaha Australian Open of Mini Supercross

17th of December, Rutter Park Tooradin Victoria

The Yamaha Australian Open of Mini Supercross promises to be a spectacular mini supercross event featuring the very best mini racers in Australia and for the first time ever, combined with a world class freestyle motocross show called FMX Southside Style. This first time event is the biggest mini bike race to date in Australia as well as being the first major minibike race ever run in Victoria. The event is set to be run in the afternoon and at night under lights. Qualifying for the mini Supercross events shall be run in daylight followed by more substantial freestyle shows and finals for the mini Supercross classes run under lights.

FMX Southside Style riders Cam Sinclair and Matt McFerran are set to put on what will surely be an amazing FMX demonstration. Cam is fresh off the Crusty Demons of Dirt tour and Matt McFerran has to be the most talented, up and coming freestyle rider in Australia today doing shows nationally full time. Cam has mastered the infamous "back flip" over a huge 75 foot gap. FMX southside style promises to be a world class freestyle show.

Rutter Park in Tooradin is situated on the Sth Gippsland Hwy just 10 mins south of Cranbourne and less than an hour from Melbourne's CBD, it is an excellent venue with permanent lighting, main hwy frontage and easy vehicle access. 3000-6000 spectators and 250 racer entries are expected to attend the Yamaha Australian Open of Mini Supercross given the popularity of motocross, supercross, minibikes and freestyle motocross in this south-east region of Melbourne.

Gates open early for competitors and afternoon racing however the night program of event finals, freestyle and prize giveaways kicks off at 5pm. Tickets are available at the gate with Adults costing $15, children under 12 $10 and families $40.

We have split the Import class into 2. There will now be a 110 Import class and a 124 import class.
Entries went online wednesday and we have had over 200 downloaded already. We ae only taking 40 per class so get ur entries in quick,

PRESS RELEASE

Due to unforseen circumstances the Yamaha Australian Open of Mini Supercross has been moved from Saturday the 10th of December to a week later Saturday the 17th of December.

The reason for the change is the recent inclusion of a tour of India for the Crusty Demons of Dirt in which FMX Southside Style riders Cam Sinclair and Bilko Williams play a vital role. By moving the Yamaha Mini Sx to the following weekend not only does it ensure the Sincs and Bilko are able to race and show off their inverted freestyle antics learnt on tour, it also at this stage brings the inclusion of fello Crusty Demon and freestyle front runner Matt Shuebring. Matt has become a household name in Australian freestyle since joining up with the late great Jono Porter and more recently the Motorex KTM team.

All other details of the event remain the same, we have had great competitor interest already and Southside Promotions cannot wait till the 17th of December. We hope to see everyone there! Competitor entrys can be downloaded from www.minisxopen.com and tickets are for sale at the gate.
