i have used dunlop and pirelli. I found that the pirelli was a better tyre, (by the way it was the Motocross style) . The dunlop lasted a bit longer if i can recall. They are both good tyres. They were both about $100, for an 80. so obviously it would be round $120 for the 250. i havent bought a new tyre for my 125 yet.

Depending on where your riding, terrain, etc, i recomment a Dunlop intermediate tyre is it is an all around tyre, no matter the terrain. Try something new, a differenct tyre for your next 2 or 3 that you by and then make a final decision of which tyre works best for you, your bike and the terrain you ride.

ok i just bought a new rear tyre for my cr and it was $110 it is a Bridgestone intermediate. I have found bridgestone to be reltively cheap and a good wuality tyre.

if you go to these country bike shops you can get these no-brand tyres for $90-$100 and they are pretty good quality to. Its where i get all my stuff from.

it really depends on what type of riding you are doing. 120 is a normal price for a tyre. if i was just hitting ramps all day i wouldent really care to much about the grip, just the compound.

i am in the process of building a ramp at the moment, so i will be doing that mostly, but also trails. Does it matter about the compoiund?? and if so, what sort do i want???

the harder the compound the longer it should last. intermediates are the best all round tyre.
generally speaking hardpack tyres are soft compound so they bite the ground well, so they wear quikly, however a soft terrain tyre will be more open, letting it wear faster on hard stuff, even though it has a hard compound.
basically i would get a intermediate

I've had parelli (hard compound) Dunlop (hard compound) and cheap (hard compound) and tore the knobs off all of them in around 6 months. my track is mostly black soil with clay for jumps, i think it's a little hard on tyres. The latest i have is KENDA Unadilla (intermediate/soft) I'm running it in the intermediate and its going excellent. done 3 meeting with it one in gladstone staium MX. that track was real hard clay and its held up so well. It has HUGE knobs and hooks up excellent. as for price, i think its around $110, Strongly recommend.
