i just installed adobe photoshop version 5 i think it is yesterday. and realised i wouldnt have a bloody clue how to use it properly. So far ive worked out how to use that lasoo thing to trace an area and then use Ctrl B to alter colours. Only problem is it only lets u change the colours around so much from the original. So can anyone explain how i can completely change the colours around, like from black to white. And also, is there a way u can add a metallic kinda look to it like if say you're tryin to put a metallic black paint job on a car. Cheers

well well well.......yet another person that got their grubby mits on Photoshop with no knowledge on how to use it.
It's like buyin an airplane without bein able to fly, fair enough they have the plane, but can you use it?, People expect a quick easy answer to it all like "just hit the fly button and sit back for the ride".........Sorry for the metaphor, but it's the easiest way i can think of explaining it.
Photoshop is a very big, expensive program, emagine if you didn't have access to the net or P2P programs and had to pay for it.......it's Thousands of dollars.....now ya wouldn't go forkin out that sorta money just to touchup or change the colour of something. So as ya can emagine, something that expensive, will be HUGE, and hence, there will not be an easy way to explain it, As I'm sure one of the other users, such as Lee, Pete, or Noel will tell you, there are turorials out there and the help button. If your really wanting to learn how to do everything, you need to, as all of us have done, take the time to learn it, sit down, read everything and practise, and play. If ya gunna buy a plane, expect to take flying lessons I dont really know why i even bother writting these type of reply's anymore, I've done it so many times on this site. but Meh. you ask, we tell.

The main thing to do is just play. Click on somthing, see what it does. Paint some pretty lines. Take an image, any image, use some filters on it. (filters are great fun). Gradually you will learn the program, and what it can do.

Try www.pslover.com for some cool tutorials on some awsome effects etc.
