What are these unbreakable levers u speak of??
and unbreakable you say? thats sounds a bit dodgy for. I thought u wanted them to break, that way theres less chance of your bars bending if your levers get snagged or something??

http://www.asvinventions.com
i think that is the url.

no complaints here so far...but it hasnt taken a hit yet either, heh.
but with a 5 year warranty, how can you go wrong? :)
and a lever breaking doesnt take much force, it sure isnt gonna stop a set of bars beding much. Hell, my normal front brake lever didnt break on my last crash, but it managed to bend a TAG clamp and slightly tweaked the tag t2 bars

Mungoman45

Holy Crap, for that price, they wouldn't wanna break, or BY CRIKEY THERE'LL BE TROUBLE!

lol, yes, well i hadn't heard of such a lever before.
"Unbreakable" is quite a bold label to have. However, if there's evidence there to prove it, then, there's nothin to worry about, and as Crusty said,. 5yrs is guarenteed.

they would be heavy though,
you used to be able to get plastic ones that just bend when you stack, they would be good and you would be shure that you dont bend your bars or clamps

so $159 for the lot (both sides and perches)
or for just one side?
crustydemon_69
24th September 2003, 09:50 PM
one side.
thye are made from alloy, so they are light. made on cnc drills

do the asv levers make the clutch feel heavy or is it just the same as a normal lever? do they come with a quick adjust?
norm
10th October 2003, 08:30 PM
Yeah, it's a cr ratio perch so its a light pull. u can adjust the lever closer to the bars too. The site says quick adjust and hot start. big bucks i reckon

14th October 2003, 09:19 AM
dont but them. My mate had them and when his dropped his bike the clamp attaching the clutch broke off. cost a lot more than a new lever

norm
18th October 2003, 03:37 PM
yeah, they fold out of the way, Don't know what fmxter is talking bout though, maybe a hydralic clutch? I reckon it would have broke anyway cos the lever don't hit anything else.

i bought both asv levers for my bike, they cost me 75$ in US funds and the clutch came with a normal perch and brake was just the lever. they r amazing, one is slightly tweaked but it made it more comfotable so i left it, ive wiped so many times and they havnet left me down yet.
A+++ in my books

is there any levers in the fmxaus shop for 85's??

i would much rather fork out 12 bucks or so for a new lever instead of 300 odd bucks for a master cylinder.

OMG!! Kawa is right. thats way to much. iwouldnt bother with that unless i was a factory rider.

I think all levers are universal, be it 85, 125 or 250... Get the perch and you can't go wrong :)

26th October 2004, 01:07 PM
$159 are they that good
The Snitz
26th October 2004, 01:11 PM
Damn right... I was breaking about 5 levers in a month at one stage... 5 x $13 = $65 a month for levers that I broke.... They were because of the bike falling out of a trailer, bike falling off the stand twice, and 2 stupid crashes I had...
$159 for 5 years is easily much cheaper in the long run
freekstyle
26th October 2004, 01:16 PM
how the hell did your bike fall out of ur trailer
nice one
The Snitz
26th October 2004, 01:35 PM
... not one, but 2 tie-downs snapped and the bike fell out of the trailer and was holding by the other tie-down. Lucky I was only doing 20k/hr around a U-Turn, if it was 100k's down a highway I would have been in trouble

mate, if you brake a reservoir, you was gunna brake it anyway. My lever goes no where near it , but I put on a rotater clamp anyway
