Image / Attachments now thumbnailed.

In order to make viewing threads full of pics quicker for dial up users attachments will now be thumbnailed.

The avantage to this is now is uploading multiple images to one post no longer creates the text links. It looks like its does below.. :)

You will notice in older threads all images are currently linked without a thumbnail. This is because of the massive amounts on images on this site. The server has been thumbnailing images since 1am and its still going.. They will all slowly appear as thumbnails as the images are built... Some older images in threads that cause errors and can't be thumbnailed may also be removed.

Please let me know what you all think of this way of doing it... Is it easier?

To be perfectly honest, I hate it.:) Lol. For the way I post my photo missions I reckon this way will make it take twice as long to view the pics cause you have to click each one then go back to see the next one instead of being able to scroll down. That's what I think anyway. Having to click every pic I wanna see annoys me. But it's good that you're still trying to improve the site, I just personally don't like this one haha. If you decide to keep it that's cool, I'll prolly just go back to usin IMG tags. :)

How about now they open in a new window too Grant ? ;) Only reason I turned it on it because with it the news on the front page wont display any attachments... I will leave it a few days and yer decide from there whether to leave on...

i think its all good, itd b sweet if you could like click on one, it enlarges then just scroll through them like a slide show, haha i dont no if it could be done but it would b mad

Oh and I am trying to code it so that if only one image is attached it will display like before (you would think that would be a software feature already) which is what I really want.. Its not that simple though so it may take me a little time to work out how the thumbnail system works and then to hack the code...

umm i sortta like it... maybe if you just post one pic it could show the whole thing (like normal size)... but if multiple pics in one post to show as thumbnails... if that is possible... i agree with what gstyler has said... but thats my opinion...

That would be good but very hard to code. I will look into it but off the top off my head, there would be no way to know the attachment number of the next image. So in other words a major major job to code it all...

If 2 or 3 people happen to upload at the same time then I could see one persons post containing attachment 1, 3, 4, 5 and the others post having 2, 6, 7, 8 just because one image uploaded at roughly the same time...

Sorry I am thinkin out loud about how it could or couldnt be done lol

yeah with grant on this one adam though i do like the way it looks but i m not fan of the extra window opening to show each pic. If you could get it to work like pitboss girl and yourself has said it would be prefer to be able to see multiple images as thumbnails and then have single images as a full size image.

That would be my prefrence but see how you go with it.

the other way was fine for me as i have broadband, the way of uploading pics is a bit harder then it was before the site upgrade. i don't care either way, still a great site and other forums u just have text links aswell.

i dont wana be a party pooper but i like it its an awsome idea i dont have to click on each text link to look at a bad pic i can just view it in the thumbnail and if i dont like the pic i dont have to open it

also, would there be any chance of getting the old way of putting pics up? like just click on reply, then browse, post the pic then just post it.. i liked it like that..

You used to be able to do it like an emai..BROWSE, Choose image and upload. Now you have to go to Photobucket.com and upload pics there and get img tags and stuff.

No you don't... Lol. You just go to Manage Attachments at the bottom of the post screen and it brings up a window where you attach a file. Still, I do prefer the old way better where you didn't have to have a popup thing but I'm not sure it can be done with this new forum software. But yeah, you definitely don't need Photobucket or anything.

lets find that smart ass! i like the way insane said with single pics normal size and lots of pics the thumbnails. Howcome there called thumbnails when there like 3 or 4 times the size or a normal perosn's thumbnail?

its alright bit gay but can u make it in big threads so u click on one and like a scroll bar comes up and u can click next and just scroll through the pics that would be better i rekon. any how it up to u, :headbang9 it your site lol.
