Crf 50s grabs?

ok got myself a nice set off crf plastics....and i diidnt no till i looked at them that they had that lil jopining peice at the bak were the backgaurd joins the sidegaurds...wondering if you can cut that off and the backgaurd wont be to floppy? my hands are rather big so i need pretty long grab holes you see...any pics or tips would be helpful....thanks

hey dude, i cut mine off, and it makes them a little bit floppy but not that much!!!! u should definatly do it if u leave it it looks f*ked up!

yeh u gotta cut it or else it looks like shit.
mabye if u tried ziptieing it neatly, thats what im gonna do.

Hey what do you use to cut the plastic with?? I am thinking of cutting one on my 04 Pitboss with XR plastics. Could someone post a pic of there 50 grab holes for ideas?? Is there anything I should know about cutting grab holes?Thanks!!!!!

cut em with a hacksaw blade or a jigsaw dude......draw your design on 1st with white board marker so if you muck it up you can rub it off;)

just cut the first hole off. with my grabs i cut from just before the screw and all the way back to the 2nd hole. perfect size grab.

I cut my grab hole on my pitboss yeaterday and I made it so I can screw the piece that I cut out back into the seat if I want to. I haven't used it yet! When I do I will post some pics if I can do decent ssg's.

This is my grab but they are xr plasitcs so they probably arnt any help to you sik 50. Since this pic I put a bit of grip tape on the frame in the grab, that I scabbed of 1 of my old skateboards, makes it heaps grippy!!! I haven't had the chance to try my grab hole yet!! Send a pic of your crf plastics sik when you cut your grab hole.

y didnt u cut it all the way up to the seat...it would look better

i got a five o frame and i couldnt cut the normal grab in the middle of the plate, cause of the sub frame. so i cut a wedge out the front of the plate, sort of like big bikes. i like it cause it dosent even look like ive cut the plate up.

yer i have seen it 50fmxr...you mind psotin a pic...do you ever get yoiur fingers in the shock..cause i was just wackin my hand in there and i touched it a couple of times?

yea i thought that i mite hit the shock to but i havent had any problems. never touched it. sorry i got no high quility up close pics.

Hollis how do you grab that hole cause the seat is heaps fat and the grab dosn't go right up to the seat?? You must have massive hands!!! Do you have any pics of you using it?? I will hopefully get to try out my grab hole this weekend on my new landing. I will send some pics of my latest tricks!!

lol nah got no pics sorry...i didnt cut it all the way cause i was worried i would hack the lil slider things... when i can be bothered i will cut the seat down 1 day... and i thinkin of gettin new side plates anyway..

here we go, my 50 with a grab, its not the actull grab i did it in paint, but that is just how it looks. next time the whit plastics go on i'll get a real pic;)
