The recent flood of injuries has subsided and full fields seem certain when the Final of the Australian Supercross Championship is played out at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on October 11.

It will be Queensland's only national supercross event for 2003 and features all the factory teams and their contracted riders.

The most recent round staged in Adelaide on September 6 saw somewhat depleted fields with several of the major players side-lined through injury.

But now AXO Suzuki's Danny Ham has the plaster off his hand and is confident of riding the Supercross Masters round at Rod Laver Arena Melbourne Park on October 4 and then the Brisbane event.

Local veteran Scott Bishop is also back on the entry list... in spades. Bishop has nominated for both the Pro-Open and Pro-Lite classes.

Already Toowoomba's pilot Troy Carroll has run away with the Pro-Lite title and now Jay Marmont has done the same for his KTM outfit in the Open ranks. Carroll seeks an unique spot in history; he is only two winning rides from taking the Pro-Lites class (formerly 125cc crown) without a single loss in 13 rounds.

And the reward for Supercross Masters season domination appears to be a berth in the 2004 Open class for CDR Yamaha.

Daniel McCoy -- he races for the Brisbane-based Serco team -- is looking to shake off his recent gloomy patch and nail fellow-Queenslander Carroll in this finals confrontation at the popular indoor Brisbane venue.

Lining up also for a crack at the unbeaten Carroll is the Suzuki duo of Jono Porter -- back from injury -- and Mitchell Hoad, as well as Ryan Marmont, the season's most-improved rider.

Ryan's more senior family member Jay Marmont has succeeded Craig Anderson in the KTM camp.

And Jay has the satisfaction of knowing he can retain the Supercross Masters crown for KTM that came their way through Ando last season.

Thus Jay Marmont will lay claim to being the only Australian rider -- apart from Anderson -- to bring a supercross championship to the KTM brand.

Championship organisers Spokes Promotions negotiated a deal with Motorcycling Australia to bring the 2003 Championship Final to Brisbane when the Northern capital's hopes of a major event this year appeared forlorn.

The meeting will also feature the roof-scraping spectacle of the Airtime Expression Session -- awesome freestyle motocross -- with some of the best aerialists in the country including Matt Schubring, Cameron Sinclair, Blake Williams, Jono Porter and Shaun Richardson.

Reserved seats are on sale through TICKETEK outlets, on-line www.ticketek.com.au or phone 132849.
