This year's motorcycle expo in Melbourne at the weekend was a huge success, but things turned sour in the final hour, when long-time moto-photo-journalist Phil Smith's laptop was stolen. As far as work goes, the laptop basically had the last six months of Phil's life on it, as well as all his shots from the expo. Motorcycling magazines across the country - including ADB - were planning on running his photos from the 03 show, but have now been left in the lurch.
As you'd imagine, Smith is devasated by the theft and the implications will be far-reaching if it is not recovered promptly. In an effort to get it back, ADB is offering a reward to any information leading to the retrieval of the computer.
If anyone saw someone walking out of the expo on Sunday with a laptop, or saw any suspicious activity at all, they should notify police and contact Phil at phil@psfoto.com.
Just so you've got an idea of the quality of work Phil produces, here's a stunning image of Jono Porter stepping it up for the lense.
