Multiple national champion Craig Anderson has withdrawn from the Australian team for the 2003 Motocross of Nations in Belgium on October 5, as he concentrates on securing his immediate racing future in America. Anderson will now be replaced in the three-rider team by 28-year-old Paul Grant, who will ride a Honda CRF450R in the annual team event alongside world championship campaigner Andrew McFarlane (Kawasaki KX250) and Paul Broomfield (Yamaha YZ45oF). The event will be held at the Zolder circuit in Belgium. Grant, who lives in Tahmoor (NSW), finished 10th in the 2003 Australian Pro Open Motocross Championship, despite missing a round due to illness. His best national result has been a third in the 1999 125cc title
