It's just been confirmed! Freestyle MX comp to be staged on the Gold Coast 17-19 October 2003. This will be a lead up event to the Freerider MX FMX Nationals in 2004.
Queensland-based Raceline Promotions have given Freerider MX and Unit FMX the green light to host a much-needed freestyle competition on the Gold Coast, Qld, across the weekend of the 17/18/19th of October. ³King Of The Coast² is the name of the competition, and it will be a major feature of Raceline Promotion¹s ³Xtreme Motor Show², which is an already proven, successful annual event that also includes a full-scale Street Machine show, Hotrods, Harleys, burnout comps, Jet-propelled cars and bikes, dyno shootouts, bikini contests, rally cars, fashion shows, bands, DJs, and more. Raceline has guaranteed to put down just over six grand prize money on the table, $2000 for the win paying back to 10th place, and a ³Sickest Trick² comp where the winner walks away with a grand. The comp is open to all pro riders and seeded amateur riders, who will all have to qualify through to the final.
There will be a non-qualifiers shootout as well with a few bucks up for grabs, plus trophies for the top three in both catagories. To enter the comp phone Matty from Raceline so he can post you out an entry form. He will have a list of the seeded amateur riders, while all other amateur riders will have to send in a three-minute video tape of themselves showing they are capable of executing tricks off a kicker to dirt landing, over a minimum gap of 70 feet. Raceline has also locked in the 3/4th of April, 2004, to host the Freerider MX FMX Nationals as part of ³X Rated², which also features the ³Hyperzone Radical Car Show², featuring Hot Fours, Rotarys, Hi-Tech Imports and performances cars, which promises to be the ³motorised version of the Big Day Out².
