Thats a bit bloody rugged for a 1st offence.........just what sort of "public place" was this? it wasn't the local park was it? HAHA.

nah, it was in a old high school, that they demolished and there is a little 20-30 foot step up onto a hockey field, i just go riding there after school to try and get practice as i leave on a house block

geez... aren't police out there gettin up kids because they DON"T go to school, and here u are showing the initiative to get there anyway possible (even if by moto). there's an obvious flaw within the education and legal departments that i feel should be reassessed

hey Kyle was it the tight ass cop that pulled us over when Robin was riding his bike with out tyres? Your pretty lucky that you didn't get a fine though. F@ck the Cops

f##k the cops? i reckon you got off ok considering you obviously got reported, the cop came out and let you go ... i can think of more than $500 in fines you could have been given aswell ... seriously riding in places like what you explained is killing our sport.

its the same cop that yelled out "ill get u ya little f@ck" when i was ridin out at lonsdale lakes couple of months ago, he asked me if he had seen me before, and i was like no, i was so ****in lucky. yeah the same cop alistar
Alistair
11th August 2003, 08:56 PM
he has to be the gayest guy i know, that cop. Looks like you want be ridding there any more
The Snitz
11th August 2003, 08:58 PM
yeah on a serious note i agree with shirefmx - 500 is nothin to what they coulda done, unlicenced/unregistered bike/driving in public area, dangerous driving no doubt (goes without saying with a freestyle moto doesn't it), yeah u were very lucky to get off scott free
kyle
11th August 2003, 10:59 PM
i know, just figured it out, just over $6000 in fines (including buying a new bike being confiscated)

To prevent this from happening dont ride on public places lol . The government are proberbly so scared that somone will crash, hurt themselves then sue them.
Honestly, MAYBE if they provided us with some decent places to ride other than puttin a bloody sk8 park in every suburb, just maybe then cops wouldn't be pullin so many kids over for riding in the burbs.
Just a thought

Perhaps yous are forgetting the other things that cops do for us. before you start saying ****ing cops etc etc when they did let you off from what would have been a massive penalty.
Consider what the world would be like with out them???? For starters you wouldnt have a bike in the first place cause some bastard would have stolen it already, you sure as hell wouldnt be able to sleep at night either with the amount of violence there would be.
Respect them for what they do for you and not what they do to you.

i know that i got off scott free, but until u meet this police officer, then u will know what iam winging about, he kicked us out our local riding spot, which is 300 acres of bush on a housing estate and the closest house is 2 KM away, not hurting anyone, heel he even kicked us out of the skate at 6 one night in the middle of the summer holidaya and the park closes at 8, his excuse is that we might hurt our self because we are tired? figure it out yourself!

yer some cops can be true *******s but other ones can be total champs but riding on public property just isnt right this is what is killing our sport when you see a place that looks like a good riding place ring up ya local cops and see if ya can ride there and getting chased by the coppers cause of no helmet thats easily fixed wear a ***in helmet

OK guys, my input may mean shit-all as I like my feet planted firmly with camera in hand, but I have been there when cops have come out, basically the fines are generally more than most of us can afford with reckless endangerment, confiscation of bikes etc. Just take the good with the bad, and as redbull_fmx said check it out, no one has the right to go hell for leather where ever they like, enuf of my fence sitting.
Snitz, gonna look into the Kaos thing, see whats do-able etc, will email you with some thoughts
As for the rest of you ride hard, play nice :D

yeah I think most moto riders will have there own little run in with the cops...esspecially when riding where we aren't surpose to...I hade a simalar experiece to yours stevo, I ride out the back a a high way, down in this shitty swampy area...I went down about 5 months ago on me RMX 250, just riding around and these two riders came up to me on xr's, they were about10 metre's away and I realised they were cops, **** I have never had such a quick start in me life, they chase me through scrub for about 5 km's, I was slowly losing them, and I was suprised at how well they rode, I ended up hitting this hill climb that I use to shit meself just looking at about 1 km from my place and the cops never got up it, I dont know if they tried or not, but it just goes to show that when ya are shittin yaself and worried about a massive fine, ya will do things that ya never thought ya would do....
cheers, and allways keep and eye out, cause they now ride moto's..

Hahaha well done Enslow, desperate times call for desperate measures. Reminds me of the movie The Great Escape where Steve McQueen jumps the barb wire fence on an old road bike.

it sounds like ya all need to go find out about recreational rego for ya bikes. go to ya local moto bike shop and ckeck it out. they should be able to tell ya bout it and what ya need to do to ya bike and where ya can then ride ya bikes. that might save some problems with the cops.
kyle

most of us cant get rec rego, because you have to have a license or L plates.

i had a run in about 6months ago,
i was pinning it down a gravel road with a mate and we got to an intersection and out the corner of my eye i see a green highway patrol car .
when i saw him i pulled into a friends house and waited for him to come over.
my mate was doing wheelies on the side of the road and they bypassed him to talk to me cos they saw me cross the road.
Cop:name?
Me:Josh
Cop:why were you on the road?
Me: just crossing it to get back from a mates house.
Cop: oh ok then
Me: mmm
Cop:well u shouldnt be on the road
Me: I know i shouldnt, im sorry
Cop: dont do it again or ill fine you
Me: ok sorry sir
Female Cop: (to male cop) were going to fine him
Male Cop: no were not.
FC: yes we are.
MC: no we arnt.
FC: yes we are its the rules.
MC: were not f***ing charging him, all he did was cross the road, now shut up. (to me) stay off the road champ.
I nearly wet myself in laughter and he just smiled and drove away.
she gave me the worst look out of the car.
