Me also, not quite sure what the technical mumbo jumbo of it all is, cause lets face it, it was like 4yrs ago when i bought it, but it's Fox, mainly blue with yellow shoulder pads and arm straps, matches my blue and yellow fox jersey and stuff.
I dont wear mine all that much, cause it's mainly for roost when racing and shit, but every now and then i slap it on and give it an airing out hehe, after all, too much protection is NEVER enough, or so I've been told ;)

i just wear the axo biofoam one that you wear under your jersey ... its heaps lighter and less restrictive ... its just to stop you getting hammered by roost ... but i only wear it at the track, not when i'm freeriding.

I wore shift armour and reckoned it contributed to cracking my collarbone cause the shoulder guards felt weird.
I got fox airframe now, cost like $200 but you dont even know your wearing it. Comes in different sizes too

Hey yeah I do have some issues that probably don't really need resolving, and some that do, but yeah. I'd had a few last night when I posted that hence the sillyness of it hehe. But yeah I wear it riding sometimes, 01 Fox Airframe, it's my brothers but ya get that. That stuff about driving is true though. I was drivin my mums car down the main with gear on. I don't know why I did it, but I did. And I laughed. And the way things are looking I'll be doin it again soon, I'm so bored lol. I take the bicep things off, they're uncomfortable and difficult.

P.S. Don't wear your boots driving if you can avoid it. It limits the range you can push the pedals.

You dont take the arm things off, I did as soon as i got it cause it's mine, you just keep takin it and wearin it sometimes, you probly never tryed it with the arm things. haha

I use the HRP Chest protector, had to get a new one after I came up hort on a 90 foot triple... seporated 3 ribs from my chest plate, tore a bunch of stuff in my shoulder and bad concussion. Split the front of my MSR chest protector in half.

And to the dude who cant do cordovas with em on... Ronnie Faist wears a chest protector and he can do sick cordovas.

Doc said I would have done alot more internal damage if i didnt have mine on when i wrecked.

How do you find that shift armour? I had the exact one and hated it, ended up smashing shoulder cup and my cracking collarbone

The gear is good though, I got it in red ;)

armor makes a difference. my friend didnt have armor and he crashed and he was covered in scabs. also once i landed on a rock and i had armor on, it cracked the armor a bit but if i didnt have it on i reckon it would of stuck into my back.

i got fly racing armor which is not really that good cause all the straps broke. when i broke my collar bone my armor got ripped to pieces so now all the straps are holding together with eletrical ties.

I always wear armor, unless I forget it and leave it at home. Ive just always worn it since I started riding, got used to it, plus keeps you from getting torn up when your tumbling in a crash. I have the no fear one ( always take off the arm thing, they just get in the way), I think that and the new thor one are the best lookin, the troy lee is really cool too.

ok, peoples i need to ask something. i got fox airframe for Xmas and i have only just ridden with it as i was not home for chrissy. i went for a ride and started thinking about the size. Are the shoulders supposed to be like perfect for your shoulders, like a little bit of room, but not heaps?? coz with mine, i have heaps of room, like if i put it on and pull the shoulder parts forward, i have like a 2 cms, like it is not heaps loose, but i wanna know if it is TOO big and should be smaller. i dunno if what i have said will make sense, but please help me out here

kyle
28th December 2003, 08:44 PM
i have large and it is way too BIG, i have adjusted the stomach straps in all the way and double them up to make them shorter again and it is nice and tight around my stomach so it dosent move around the shoulders, try that

KC#97
28th December 2003, 09:59 PM
Im pretty sure that the armour should fit snug, the airframe has heaps of adjustment bits and pieces. Make the straps shorter and you will find with the metal screws that they come out and you can move the shoulder attachments up and down at both the front and the back. I cant remember if they come set in the smallest setting or not.
But my airframe is lose around the shoulders a bit as well
